So this month I’ve auditioned for two movies. A short and a feature. Both are indie productions.
The short’s director just had me audition over the phone after receiving my "head shot" and resume. He wanted assurance that I could speak without an accent. Of course I could!
The feature’s director had me come down for an audition yesterday. I thought I was going to be auditioning as a female mini mart clerk and a patrol officer, but instead he had me read for the male mini mart clerk. Totally unexpected. But his thinking is the part could work either way so he’s testing it in both formats.
I had so much fun! Because it wasn’t just reading from the script, there was also improvisation. That’s where I had the most fun. I’ve gotten so much better at it since "Keep Your Distance."
Will I get either of these parts? I have no idea. I had a lot of fun trying!
Man, I really gotta work on a fake and really annoying laugh…
