I <3 the internet, but we need some time apart…

02/14/2010

Yeah, I gotta take a break from the internet.  Just a couple of weeks.

I’m going to allow myself no more than 1 hour a day for job hunting and I told my son I would do his taxes for him, but that is all.

I got other stuff I need to be doing (like getting stuff together to do our own taxes) and it is so easy to get distracted by the internet.

You know how it is.  You click on a story on CNN which only leads to clicking on related stories and before you know it you’ve spent 3 hours on the internet and now you’ve got a whopping headache, too.  (Not a migraine, just some eye strain or whatever.)

Visiting friends via Facebook and Twitter.

Or spending way too much time in Dooce Community.  Or reading posts by other blogmates.

I need to take the Lily puppy on longer walks or read book.

Hell, I hardly even watch tv anymore — not that I need to pick up that habit again.

I do miss me some movie watching, though.

I <3 moobies, too.

I need to organize my home office, too.  I need it more user friendly when working on my writing/drawing projects.  I need to be able to get to my materials more easily instead of hunting around in piles of stuff.

And if I’m still unemployed when warmer weather returns I’ve got a whole list of outside projects I want to get done.

I’ve even got files to go through and organize on my computer!  Oh, crap.

I’ll do some blogging, but on my desktop, to be uploaded once my internet break is over.

So here’s a picture of the Lily puppy to hold you all until I get back (taken just minutes ago).

Lily

I might even come back with a nice little Lily movie and slide show goodness, too!

Enjoy your break. If the pup gets to be too much (hah!), I’m taking a roadtrip to pick her up!
