…has his own food and water bowls and a litter box just his size, too. They call him T.J. for short, but I’m still calling him "baby cat."
The doc put me on augmentin three times a day for seven days because of the nice bite T.J. inflicted upon me when he was just a flea ridden stray. What? I didn’t write about that already?
See, I was coming up the steps to the back deck with the baby cat in one hand and my backpack in the other, and the big giant kid opened that back door to let out all THREE dogs. Oh, yeah. That didn’t go well at all.
So the thing swelled up and hurt. Baby cat got me right in the joint on both sides. And so I made this little video of my big fat finger because I’ve been told I have remarkably delicate hands for a person of my size (my feet are the same way). Not length, circumference.
Linda awarded me and others another badge (Thanks, Linda!) so now I’ve got a longer list of blogs to check on regularly (as they are all good). I need to update my blogmate list or maybe give it a page of its own? Also? You should read about her latest adventure with a stray cat. Ouch!
And the job hunt? Well, we all know how that goes…
He weighed in at 2 pounds .04 ounces and the vet says he’s about seven weeks old.
He was covered in fleas, but we gave him a bath before we took him to the vet who gave him some "capstar" and applied some Frontline (once all the tests came back negative for a nice healthy kitten). And then he got de-wormed and vaccinated with all those baby cat vaccinations.
This was actually the first picture I took, but it was hard to pick him out from his silhouette and the little pink tongue of his first toy mouse — so I had to bring on the flash.
The big giant kid is keeping him [and we blame the big giant kid's girlfriend --- ;o) ]. They’ll come up with a name for him soon.
… the Lily puppy wanting to get up between 3 and 4 AM. AM! That’s in the morning, you know. A.M.
And the lighting at work really sucks. See I went in at 10 am and then left at 1:15 am. Partly because I’d done what I could do there and partly because oh-my-great-freakin-head-hurts.
Seriously.
I’m still suffering.
I can last longer at home before I get a headache than I do at work. In fact, I’ve only even had two very short-lived migraines since I began working at home and both of those were after I’d gone into the office for a bit.
At home I can work 4 or 5 hours before i even get an eyeball ache.
And it is so much more quiet at home. I only allow the puppies 3 barking episodes before I will put them in their room. In their room they quiet down and take naps or something because there is very little barking from them once I’ve sent them to their rooms. Ah ha ha! They bark when the postman comes or when back brace neighbor is outside chatting LOUDLY. That man doesn’t even have an outside voice!
If my desk was in the living room I’d have to move it because when back brace neighbor sits (sets) out on his porch he chats up all the neighbors from his porch!
I can almost understand every word he says like he was sitting on my sofa and conversing with me. We don’t even bother to open the living room windows on nice days.
While Lily is looking awesome in size my poor sofa has been taking a beating ever since she came to live with us:
She didn’t do the damage alone. Gracie and the Minikins helped. It did start with LILY!
I will be trying to clean it soon (just now the dogs are the only ones using it) but I do have slip covers to use and I’d always planned to have it reupholstered some day. Looks like some day may come a bit sooner than I had planned.
Lily and Harold…
My son took a quick trip to Chicago…
…are not left alone yet.
…on a perfect day for flying!
Lily really is a good looking dog, don’t you think? She’s shy, but very sweet and loving with us.
My Darling Son has finally admitted (on FaceBook) that she is his Darling Girlfriend.
She’s very sweet and tiny. Hubby and I love her, too.
…because she is quite skitish about new people, noises, and noisy people. I’m thinking since there is so much noise and people downtown I will eventually break her of this or at least get her to not behave so alarmed at everything.
Last Saturday we walked with a purpose as I was taking her to the Farmer’s Market.
On our way I snapped this picture of this mural on the side of a building:
It’s even more interesting up close and personal.
Lexington has a new downtown parking system which includes the old parking meter posts:
but then the meter is this thing several car spots away:
Yeah, I don’t get them either. I missed getting in the shot all of the little solar panel that comes out the top of them, too. Hey! It was a very sunny day — and you know I’m using my cell phone camera! I was hoping to catch a pix of a meter maid, too. Because we don’t have meter maids. Oh, no, No, NO! We have theBen Hur of meter maids. Seriously:
And sometimes they wear shorts, too! Oh. My. Goodness.
Lily and I took our sweet time meandering around downtown so that by the time we got to the farmer’s market some farmers were actually packing up to go. It was only noon. And the weather was really nice. I guess sales had slowed down too much to merit them hanging out for the full day.
My son was up with me at 5:30 this morning and teasing Lily about how freakishly big she’s going to be.
"Look who’s talking freakishly big," I say to my 6’5" big giant kid.
And he comes right back with, "Yes, but I am not fluffy!"
I love that kid’s quick humor!
I took this photo of Lily and Gracie playing on the sofa a a couple of weeks ago. It’s what they do all the time. Play. Play some more. Take a nap. Resume play.
The Minikins ignores them or gets out of the way for the most part. She only plays with Lily upon our bed (king size playing field) or at the dog park. After listening to Lily bark in the video below (also taken weeks ago) click here an you will be taken to the whole set of Lily and the Minikins at play on our bed.
Saturday was hubby’s 49th birthday. We celebrated by taking the pups to the Masterson Station Dog Park. You can see some really awful cell phone pictures of that wonderful afternoon here.
Lily was so exhausted towards the end of that adventure she kept plopping down to rest over and over again. It was adorable. Much like this photo:
Look at those feet. They are just so awesomely big. I hold them all the time. I play with her toes and feet to keep her from being nervous about having her feet handled when it comes time for some toenail clipping. Sure. That’s the real reason.
