The puppy…

…is here:

Sterling and her sisters

As you can see she is mostly all legs.  It's fun to watch her ambulating along on these very colt like legs.

She probably weighs 12 lbs by now because she is already bigger than the Minikins:

But still so much smaller than Lily:

So far she is very good at chewing, eating, and pooping, but she sucks at going down stairs.  She's only made it down the first step since she arrived on Thursday:

I have several photos of her on this first step.

Several.

Today I'm taking her on our first walk.

There are two steps down from the front porch.

That girlie is so beautiful. Stairs will come. It’s just one step at a time on those big paws! Have you tried treats to encourage her? Will she go up the stairs?

It’s so stunning to see the size difference between Sterling and Lily! Wow!

Are you crating her at night? I found the crating to be helpful over night for the first couple of months.

Hiya Linda, She goes up the stairs fine. David says she’s gone down the stairs for him, so I think she’s just messing with me. We do crate her at night. It is right next to my side of the bed. She been waking 3 and 4 times a night so far. Lily goes out with her at night. It’s sweet. Our afternoon walk down the block was terrific. I might take her up the other end before the day is over.

At 12 pounds, you can carry her down. Or put in in a backpack and let Lily carrry her! Hah!

The crating is really something I had never done until I had Harry. I’m so glad we got a crate for him. It made life so much easier for the first housebreaking bit. (Plus, it protected him from Honey as well!) Sterling is still very young. I have not had a puppy for years! Lot of work, lots of benefits! I’m so happy you are back home. Life is good, Honey.
